About Sharone Goodman
Sharone was always driven to create. As a child, she seized any opportunity to paint beside her grandmother, an artist, who nurtured her gift and helped her hone her craft. Sharone’s early years were spent participating in local art exhibitions, and she continued on to receive her formal training in Menswear Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
Since launching her career, Sharone’s artistic edge has taken on a multitude of expressions, namely watercolor, drawing, fiber, and styling. As an art and style educator for 25 years, she inspires young women to embrace Jewish modesty through style education and color analysis, and she teaches styling, drawing, and painting courses from her home studio in Chicago.
Through each mode of expression, Sharone sees herself as a teacher and storyteller, tasked by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to communicate the importance of Chassidus for universal healing. From Sharone’s art flows the message that Hashem is alive, a force of constant creation that breathes life into the world at every moment.
Sharone considers her career highlights to be the projects that bring people together. Her collaborative Aleph Beis poster features an international array of artists, celebrating the diversity within unity and the unique creative spirit each individual brings into G-d’s world. In July of 2024, she organized the Unity Art Exhibition at the Jewish Discovery Center in Cedarburg, WI, which featured emerging artists from around the globe.
Sharone continues to challenge herself by venturing into new mediums and discovering new ways to impact her community through art. When not in the studio, Sharone cherishes exploring nature, doing yoga, learning Chassidus, and spending time with her grandchildren, continually gathering inspiration for her next project.
The Beginning

Sharone was born in 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri to Stuart and Joann Raskas. Her love for art was nurtured by her gifted grandmother, Jean Rothman, who left an indelible imprint on the young Sharone.

Sharone Goodman graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She worked on a kibbutz in Israel, irrigating cucumber fields in the Negev, and later designed neckwear and hosiery for MMG. Sharone traveled to Italy three times a year to purchase textiles and successfully sold her lines to major department stores across the country. It was during this time she began observing Shabbos and studying Chassidus.

Remaining in Chicago, Sharone expanded her teaching to include both art and style. She became a grandmother, continued her volunteer work, and engaged in an art project focused on the Lubavitcher Rebbeim, all while furthering her study of Chassidus.
2020’s
In the 2020s, Sharone, in Chicago, dedicated her time to painting, teaching art and style, volunteering, and enjoying her role as a grandmother. Her study of Chassidus continued to be a significant part of her life.
In 2023-2024, Sharone led a diverse group of Jewish artists from around the world in a collaborative art project. They created a piece reflecting the Chassidic belief in the power of the 22 letters of the Alef Beis. Each letter was painted by a different artist, resulting in a vibrant and meaningful collage.
